High School Science Teacher (25-26 SY)

Freire Schools is seeking a High School Science Teacher to work at one of their two high schools in Philadelphia. The ideal candidate will possess a strong belief in the potential of students and a commitment to equity, love, critical thinking, and diversity. The role involves creating a classroom culture of critical thinking and high achievement, leveraging content-specific curriculum, and establishing consistent communication with families.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher
• Valid state teaching certification or the ability and willingness to obtain certification.
• Strong content knowledge
• Positive attitude, sense of humor, and willingness to do whatever it takes to get a job done
• At least 2 years of previous successful experience working with diverse student populations
