The Department of Psychology at Florida Gulf Coast University seeks a candidate for a fulltime, in-rank faculty position starting in Fall 2026. The successful candidate will be expected to teach service courses, conduct research/scholarship, and participate on Department, College and University-level committees.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Psychology, or related area from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent accreditation.
- Experience or ability to teach and conduct research in the areas of Clinical, Biological, Developmental, or Industrial/Organizational fields.
- Interdisciplinary teaching and research perspective with well-defined research goals.
- Willingness to engage in service opportunities commensurate with career maturity.
- Knowledge of major concepts, assumptions, debates, processes of inquiry, and ways of knowing that are central to the discipline(s).
- Understanding how to use digital and interactive technologies for efficiently and effectively achieving specific learning goals.
- Knowledge of critical thinking processes and understanding how to help learners develop high level questioning skills.
- Knowledge and skill in the use of inquiry-based instructional models and strategies.
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders both within and outside the University in the development and delivery of instruction, resulting in improved student learning.
