Lead Economist – 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is seeking a Lead Economist for a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role will involve leading economic analysis, influencing senior decision-makers, and collaborating with stakeholders to drive economic growth and shape policy.

Requirements

• Prior economic experience
• Degree in Economics or at least 50% Economics modules
• Demonstrated experience leading engagement with stakeholders
• Proven experience guiding complex analysis
• Evidence of leading, reviewing, and quality assuring technical analytical reports
• Experience working with academics or external parties
• Experience managing procurement processes for economic analysis
• Ability to guide, co-ordinate, and deliver proportionate analysis at pace
• Ability to communicate analysis effectively with senior non-technical audiences
• Demonstrated expertise in futures approaches
• Ability to lead project teams and engage with stakeholders
