Director, Accounting Advisory

The Director of Accounting Advisory, based in the Remote team at F&G, will be responsible for leading accounting positions related to reinsurance, mergers and acquisitions, new products, and actuarial accounting. This role involves educating stakeholders on accounting implications, driving assessments of new transactions, and providing guidance on GAAP and statutory reporting. The role requires cross-functional collaboration with retail and business development teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
• 8+ years of relevant work experience
• CPA preferred
• 3 years of leadership experience preferred
• Big 4 experience in the insurance audit practice or an accounting advisory role that focuses on accounting for insurance products and revenue recognition would be a plus
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Extensive knowledge for reinsurance and life insurance and annuity product accounting, as well as revenue recognition and goodwill/intangible asset accounting under GAAP and Statutory
• Strong analytical, organization and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments
• Ability to research accounting issues and communicate effectively
• Ability to work under short timelines
• Ability to lead conversations and provide documentation
