The technical advisor will provide technical expertise on distribution system design and operation for New Business Projects, assessing existing distribution systems and recommending improvements, and training and mentoring staff on best design practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, related field or equivalent training and/or experience.
- Project or construction management certification or equivalent is preferred.
- 8+ years progressive experience in Designer roles with responsibilities, activities, and tasks/duties in all material aspects which require substantially the same levels of functional knowledge and skills to perform.
- Must have experience with New Business projects.
- 3+ years of senior level Designer, project management or lead experience.
- Advanced demonstrable knowledge of, and experience with, the interpretation and application of engineering principles, Overhead, Underground and Gas Standards, Design Manuals, Service Planning Manuals, Service Guides and CPUC Rules, as required.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Geographical Information Systems, required.
- Advanced proficiency in O-Calc Pro, SAP, DPSS, CISCO, word processing, spreadsheets and Outlook required.
- 1-2 years experience creating custom gas and electric AUD builds for utilities.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to quickly learn and develop a strong working knowledge of various software applications.
- Knowledge of SAP (preferred).
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Strong customer service skills and proactive follow-up (internal and external) Proficient in oral and written communication.
