Job Description
Direct Counsel is seeking an Intellectual Property Associate to join a nationally recognized law firm’s Chicago office. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary IP team that handles both prosecution and litigation, with a focus on patents and trademarks across a diverse client base.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience in IP prosecution and litigation, with a focus on patents and trademarks.
- Patent drafting experience and strong research and brief writing skills.
- An undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent technical background).
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- J.D. from an accredited institution with strong academic performance.
- Admitted in Illinois and registered as a patent attorney before the USPTO (or actively working toward both).
