Doula - PRN

We are recruiting for a motivated Doula - PRN to join our team! A birth/postpartum doula is a person trained to support families during childbirth and is an integral member of the inpatient birth team.

Requirements

• Partner with members of the inpatient birth team to identify patients amenable to doula care and services on the labor and delivery and postpartum units
• Model and encourage effective communication and support informed decision making
• Provide non-medical comfort techniques for labor, including but not limited to positioning and movement, comforting touch, visualization, breathing techniques, affirmation, and aromatherapy
• Support and assist breastfeeding initiation
• Answer general questions about and assist with non-medical infant care
• Support the family and listen as they process their birth experience
• Seek to contribute to a culturally aligned, respectful, and positive birthing and postpartum experience
• Provide support to the birthing person’s support partner and/or family
