Junior Data Scientist (stage) - Modèles additifs généralisés & intégration météo (f/m/d)

The AI Stores Forecast team at Decathlon Digital is looking for a Junior Data Scientist to work on generalized additive models (GAMs) and meteorological data integration for demand-based predictions. The team develops advanced machine learning predictive models to estimate demand and restock stores worldwide. The successful candidate will explore GAMs for demand forecasting, develop models that integrate complex external factors, and contribute to the implementation of a solution to predict up to millions of time series.

Requirements

• Strong analytical capacity and creative thinking
• Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders
• Significant first-hand experience in a similar technical environment
• Solid bases in applied mathematics: optimization, machine learning theory, algorithms, statistics
• Proven skill in analyzing time series to understand demand, identify trends, and seasonality
• Good understanding of concepts related to supply chain management and retail (stock management, factors influencing demand)
• Familiarity with a course on generalized additive models would be a plus
• Passion for reading scientific papers and implementing their solutions
• Strong interest in teamwork and a culture of sharing
• Interest in the impact of sports on personal and collective development
