Inpatient Coding Specialist is responsible for providing accurate analysis of medical records to obtain necessary information for the appropriate sequencing and assignment of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes. The role requires a strong understanding of coding guidelines and the ability to maintain quality and productivity standards.

Requirements

• Certification through AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in coding
• Advanced working knowledge and experience with systems such as EMR, Billing, etc
• Proficiency in Microsoft programs like Excel and Outlook
• Current coding materials such as CPT and ICD-10-CM coding references
