Job Description
The Specimen Control Workflow Coordinator works with laboratory leadership to coordinate the daily workflow of the MVH Specimen Control Department.
Requirements
- Perform all phlebotomy and processing duties (venipunctures, capillary punctures) in accordance with departmental procedures, ensuring proper patient identification and specimen labeling.
- Operate and maintain departmental equipment (specimen collection devices, paging and pneumatic tube systems, computers, printers) and complete required training for new or updated procedures.
- Field and resolve pre-analytical issues (incorrect orders, investigations, solutions) within scope, using sound judgment and keeping appropriate staff informed.
