The Dietary Aide assists in the service of meals for patients, visitors, and staff, and assists in various processes related to the preparation and delivery of meals.
Requirements
- Prepares and/or pre-portions food for regular and therapeutic diets, according to the planned menu and as directed.
- Handles food using proper food handling and food safety techniques according to established policies and procedures.
- Cleans and sanitizes all food preparation equipment and ensures that it is kept in safe and operable condition.
- Completes general cleaning, maintenance, and sanitation of work area.
- Assists with keeping Dietary department stocked with essential patient food items.
- Operates dish machine according to established procedures.
- Maintains records regarding patient diet information.
- Utilizes concepts of age/developmental stages in interactions with patients and families.
- May be required to work during inclement weather and other staffing emergencies.
- Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff. Assesses the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions.
- Complies with appropriate and approved safety and Infection Prevention standards.
- Maintains regular attendance in keeping with assigned work schedule.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support overall effectiveness of the organization.
