The Policy Planning & Project Consultant provides strategic advice and support to the Director on a range of sectional, divisional, and corporate projects, initiatives and issues. The role involves providing work direction to staff, overseeing assigned projects, and ensuring effective teamwork, high standards of work quality and organizational performance.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in a relevant professional discipline (e.g., Public Administration, Environmental Sciences, Business Administration, Engineering, Planning, Project Management, Finance, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience)
- Extensive project and change management experience leading complex, multi-disciplinary projects and project teams
- Considerable strategic planning/policy development and analysis experience in a complex public or private sector organization
- Considerable financial management experience
- Considerable experience coordinating and preparing complex analysis, reports, briefing notes, and other formal communications
- Experience with complex procurements and contract management
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with all stakeholders
- Sound judgement with an ability to work independently on confidential and sensitive matters
- Highly developed interpersonal, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
