ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN

Performs tasks related to the construction, installation, maintenance, calibration and repair of electrical/electronic systems, communications equipment in paramedics vehicles, public address systems, fixtures and supervisory systems for remote control and telemetering, etc. utilizing various techniques.

Requirements

• Experience in semi-skilled electrical work, including solder and crimp connectors
• Must possess and be able to maintain a current Province of Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License
• Must qualify for the City’s equipment operating permits and requirements
• Ability to perform service and repair record keeping using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and equivalent software
• Knowledge of the theory of electricity and required to keep up with technology upgrades through training
• Knowledge of in vehicular electrical systems
• Must be familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the regulations that apply to this work
• Must be physically capable of performing required duties
