The City of Independence is seeking a highly motivated, solution-oriented individual to join the Power & Light Engineering Team as an Engineer III or IV. The position will serve as a staff specialist in the planning and developing of engineering projects, and as a project leader in the design and engineering of complex projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited college or university in electrical engineering or related field
- Minimum of six (6) years general utility/power systems engineering experience for Engineer III position
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) License in Missouri (or a license in another state with the ability to receive a Missouri license within six months)
- Valid certificate in Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)
- Experience in municipal systems operation design and maintenance
- Knowledge of power distribution systems design, operation and maintenance
