The Community Services Department is seeking an energetic person to perform responsible supervisory, administrative, and technical work in support of the City of Dover’s Utility Division of Community Services. The position involves oversight and management of the Utilities staff, planning, scheduling, and supervising crews and contractors, and ensuring the safety, accuracy, and reliability of the public water and sewer system.
Requirements
- Prioritize and assign work and equipment to Working Foremen or Maintenance Specialists
- Modify methods, procedures and priorities to meet changing conditions
- Interpret work orders, specifications, or other instructions
- Maintain records and prepare reports on completed work
- Supervise the Water Service Line Inventory field investigations
- Direct and oversee field inspections of water meters, water services, and related infrastructure
- Provide oversight of staff engaged in sewer system maintenance, repair, and emergency response activities
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, renewals, meter testing, sampling results, and sewer system maintenance
