Mechanical Maintenance Engineer/Specialist responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of mechanical systems and equipment within the chemical plant. Supports effective maintenance, troubleshooting, developing technician skills, mechanical projects, and repair tasks to support continuous plant operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a similar and compatible field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering & maintenance, preferably in a chemical or industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, piping systems, pressure vessels, and mechanical seals
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and safety standards in a chemical plant setting
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of Mechanical Integrity best practices including API 610, API 650, API 570, API 510, PAI 579 FMEA, and Risk-Based Inspection methodologies
- Knowledge of mechanical codes and standards (ASME, API, ANSI, CSA)
- Knowledge of vibration analysis and thermography (plus)
- Coordination/consultation with site maintenance, operations and project group in the delivery of improved fixed equipment reliability & mechanical integrity
- Develop and/or revise procedures relating to inspection, repair, and overhaul as required
- Development of Preventive and Predictive Maintenance plans
- Experience working with 3rd party engineering consulting firms who specialize in engineering evaluations
- Solid experience in facilitating Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and corrective actions
- Experience managing small capital projects
