The position of Materials Engineer - NDT Specialist is opened in the Mechanical and Materials Engineering Group at CERN. The successful candidate will develop and apply advanced NDT techniques to inspect critical materials and assemblies for CERN's accelerators and detectors, supporting the reliability and safety of CERN's physics projects.
Requirements
- Experience in ultrasonic or digital radiographic techniques for NDT
- ISO 9712 certifications
- Holding a valid certificate for handling X-ray electric generators for industrial radiography
- Configure parameters for manual, encoded, and automated PAUT systems
- Set up acquisitions and use 2D/3D visualization software for digital radiography and computed tomography
- Familiarity with material science, welding processes, and international NDT standards
- Strong technical writing skills for procedures and reports
- Spoken and written English or French, with a commitment to learn the basics of the other language
