Radiation Therapist

The Radiation Therapist is a direct patient care provider in the Radiation Oncology team, responsible for the administration of prescribed radiation therapy treatments. This role requires strong patient care skills, accurate treatment administration, and ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and colleagues. The Radiation Therapist also maintains patient records and adheres to strict safety and ethical standards.

Requirements

• Accurately and efficiently reviews and administers daily prescribed Radiation Therapy treatments.
• Observes and adheres to all department policies concerning Radiation Therapy treatment procedures.
• Maintains visual and/or audible communication with the patient during treatment.
• Keeps immobilization devices in a clean and orderly manner.
• Records Radiation Oncology charges as procedures are performed.
• Ensures proper hand off of responsibilities once their task is completed.
• Maintains current knowledge of therapeutic procedures performed in the Radiation Oncology Department.
