Job Description
The Shoreside Tankerman will be responsible for the safe and efficient transfer of petroleum products between barges, ships, and facilities. This includes loading/discharge of bills of lading, gauge reports, and operating mooring winches, anchors, and other equipment. Responsibilities include monitoring tank levels, using specialized equipment, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring compliance with Coast Guard and state regulations.
Requirements
- Age 18+
- At least 1 year of tankerman experience
- Valid USCG Merchant Mariners Document
- Valid STCW endorsements (RFPNW, Basic Training, Vessel Security)
- Valid Driver’s License, TWIC Card, and Passport
- Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Valid 24 hour HAZWOPER certification
- Basic computer knowledge and skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
- Ability to work under stress
- Ability to lift 50lbs +
- Ability to climb on barges
- Valid HAZWOPER certification
