Job Description
The Center for Justice Innovation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing community safety and racial justice. They are seeking a Community Engagement Coordinator to increase community activation opportunities in the Crown Heights and Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhoods of Brooklyn, focusing on combating violence and fostering neighborhood well-being. This role involves engaging with community stakeholders, managing volunteers, and disseminating information to promote positive change.
Requirements
- Develop and retain a comprehensive engagement plan.
- Develop and maintain a Client Relations Management (CRM) database.
- Draft regular correspondence to community stakeholders.
- Implement a volunteer management strategy.
- Represent NIA at community meetings.
- Discover new funding opportunities.
- Commitment to working toward positive community change.
- Demonstrated success in logistics and project goal achievement
- Ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment.
- Superior communication and presentation skills
- Exceptional analytical and project management skills
- Experience working with youth (16-24)
- Background in advocacy or community organizing
