Controller

Shining Star Consulting is seeking an experienced Controller with at least 4 years experience in nonprofit accounting. The job involves providing part-time Controller-level support for one or more nonprofit clients and requires strong client relationship management, financial leadership, financial operations, and team leadership skills.

Requirements

• 4+ years of accounting experience, including managing accounting functions
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with nonprofit-specific financial management, analysis, and principles
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with grant rules and compliance requirements
• Experience with accounting systems in a nonprofit environment (QBO, Intacct, NetSuite, Blackbaud, Xero, etc.)
• Demonstrated experience successfully supervising people and teams
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build strong working relationships with clients and colleagues
• Excellent analytic and problem-solving, organization, and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and reliably meet deadlines
• Skilled in Excel, Google Sheets, and Google Workspace
• Ability to rapidly learn and use new technology
