Project Engineer - Water Distribution Engineering and Planning

The Capital Regional District (CRD) is seeking a Project Engineer to focus on Water Distribution Engineering and Planning within their Infrastructure and Water Services division. The role involves designing, evaluating, and optimizing water and wastewater systems, and is a critical component of the CRD's Regional Water Supply Master Plan. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a vibrant, beautiful region and a sustainable water supply.

Requirements

• Designs, evaluates, and identifies requirements for subdivisions, rezoning and developments.
• Develops and analyzes water and wastewater systems using computer models and pipe data bases.
• Determines water and wastewater system upgrading and extension requirements for proposed developments.
• Coordinates with Infrastructure Operations regarding new development projects.
• Responds to inquiries from public, clients, and internal and external stakeholders.
• Administers Development Cost Charges (DCCs).
• Provides technical expertise and project management skills.
• Prepares and reviews contract specifications, tender documents and technical submissions.
• Prepares conceptual design for water and wastewater systems.
• Experiences with project management and oversight of complex initiatives.
