The Clinical Nursing Instructor instructs students in specific procedures and critical thinking skills, working closely with didactic instructors and course leader to ensure consistency in clinical laboratory procedures and clinical setting.
Requirements
- Works with other instructors and Clinical Laboratory coordinator to plan laboratory experiences for students.
- Assists students during open lab sessions to optimize practice sessions when contracted to do so.
- Assist instructors in evaluation of lab and clinical performance of students.
- Develops scenarios, strategies, case studies and other means to demonstrate clinical procedures.
- Maintains proficiency in all clinical procedures and utilizes evidence-based practice to guide performance in laboratory and clinical setting.
- Ensures safety in the clinical setting for students, patients and other faculty.
- Informs the Course Leader of any deficiencies or performance issues of students.
- Maintains an accommodating and supportive demeanor when dealing with students.
