As a Category Merchandiser, you will partner with the Category Management team to develop and execute promotional plans for Southeast Independent retailers, analyzing data and presenting results to management. You will oversee vendor programs, manage category tactics, and participate in cross-functional planning initiatives. We're searching for candidates with strong analytical and quantitative skills, experience in category planning and promotional execution, and excellent communication and planning abilities.
Requirements
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; comfortable interpreting and leveraging complex financial data
- Experience in category planning and promotional execution
- Solid understanding of financial methodologies to determine costs, develop annual business plans, and oversee daily metrics (sales, volume, inventory, costs, etc.)
- Ability to concisely present analysis results, data models, and project outcomes to management
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
- Excellent planning, prioritization, and time management abilities
- Comfort working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments — adaptable and solutions-oriented
- Ability to operate effectively in both tactical and strategic capacities
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Marketing required
- 0-2 years of experience in retail/supermarket, wholesale, and/or CPG industries
- Ability to travel occasionally (limited to a few times per year, including a minimum of two food shows annually)
