Job Description
BWXT Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Welding Engineer to join their Off-Shift team. The position involves preparing and reviewing welding procedures, qualification of welders, troubleshooting welding issues, and potentially designing/purchasing equipment. BWXT manufactures naval nuclear reactors and other precision-made components for the nuclear power industry. This is a contract, off-shift position.
Requirements
- Knowledge of gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, shielded metal arc, submerged arc, and plasma arc welding processes.
- Practical experience with commercial and/or military welding qualification and fabrication specifications.
- Understanding of the welding of ferrous and non-ferrous base metals, including microstructure and weld metal properties.
- Understanding of welding of bulk base metals and the importance of filler metals.
