Director of Engineering

Business Wire is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the Engineering group, including multiple development teams, QA, Release Engineering, and engineering project management. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining Business Wire's multi-lingual, public-facing web sites, client portals, and APIs, as well as internal applications and services.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software development with a focus on SaaS-based enterprise software
• Significant experience in distributed microservice architecture as well as GitOps frameworks
• 7+ years of experience building and managing software engineering teams
• Proven experience as a technology leader who has overseen complex enterprise software projects and has a deep understanding of software development processes and technologies
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams
• Up-to-date with current technologies to inform decision-making and technology adoption with focus on AWS services and modern programming languages such as Node.js, Typescript, GoLang, Python 3, or others
• Proven experience leading a variety of engineering functions including development, QA, project management and others
• Proactive in identifying problems and opportunities and developing creative solutions
• Effective in the planning and oversight of engineering projects with ambitious timelines
