COBOL DEVELOPER

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a COBOL Developer for a long-term assignment in Berkeley Heights, NJ. As a technical leader, you will develop industry-leading software for customers and work on exciting projects in an Agile environment.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in computer programming or related discipline (Bachelor's degree preferred)
• 8-10 years of relevant experience in application development
• Experience with iSeries, Unisys, and/or other mainframe technologies
• Experience with mainframe development languages such as COBOL
• Experience with C programming
• Experience with source management tools including GIT or similar tools
• Agile and/or DevOps experience
• Knowledgeable in industry standard software design patterns, development, data modelling, and SOLID principals
• Knowledgeable in test driven development (TDD) and automated functional testing including tools like UFT, Postman, and Selenium
• Ability to resolve architectural problems including scalability, performance, reliability, usability & security
• Strong leadership skills
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with little direction or as part of a team
• Demonstrated ability to work on highly complex projects within tight timelines
• Ability to clearly communicate complex technical specifications
• Financial industry interest and experience is beneficial
