Associate Director / Director, Global Generative AI

BioNTech is seeking an Associate Director/Director of Global Generative AI to lead the development and scaling of generative AI capabilities across commercial functions. This role will focus on leveraging large language models and adjacent technologies for transformative impact within the company, driving adoption of AI solutions and ensuring regulatory compliance in healthcare. It's a highly visible position where the leader shapes how AI is used for business, collaborating with global teams and senior leadership.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in AI/ML, with at least 3+ years in Generative AI-focused roles.
• Expertise in multiple generative AI domains (RAG, fine-tuning, LLM orchestration, prompt engineering, agent-based architecture).
• Proven track record of deploying LLMs in enterprise/commercial settings with measurable business outcomes.
• Strong programming background (Python required) and familiarity with ML/LLM frameworks.
• Experience with pharma commercial data (launches, next-best action, RWE) strongly preferred.
