Axios is hiring a Reporter to cover Douglas and Arapahoe counties in Colorado, creating local news content for readers and helping to build Axios Local.

Requirements

• Authoring twice-weekly Axios newsletters with potential to increase cadence
• Command of the local market and sourcing necessary to illuminate busy readers about the community
• Ability to create stories across multiple platforms
• Experience covering news and deep understanding of Douglas and Arapahoe counties
• Excellent sources and ability to create new ones
• Strong reporting skills and comfort working independently and on deadline
• Ability to decipher data, break news and create conceptual scoops
• Background in understanding local and national news coverage
