Job Description
Astera is seeking a creative engineer to support prototyping activities for the Mars Warming Research team. This open-level position within the Mars Warming Research team will work with a senior research scientist and provide feedback to project sizing and functionality of a future Mars payload. The role involves CAD design, system sizing, and data analysis.
Requirements
- Experience with embedded systems
- Experience with CAD (any widely available software)
- Manufacturing and workshop skills: 3D printing, laser cutting, metal work etc.
- Experience with testing
- Experience with structural analysis
- Ability to size and evaluate systems from first principles
- Ability to work independently and drive the prototyping process
