The Director of Religious Education is a full-time, 12-month position responsible for administering, designing, developing, directing, communicating, and evaluating the Parish Religious Education Program for approximately 500 parish children. The position involves overseeing the development of programs, research, and ordering resources, providing students with service opportunities, and collaborating with the Pastor, School, and Parish staff.
Requirements
- Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Religious Education, Theology, Pastoral Studies, Faith Formation, Education, or equivalent
- 3-5 years’ experience managing large school age education and core volunteer programs
- Certification as a Catechist, or willingness to enter into that process
- Comprehensive vision and understanding of evangelization
- Demonstrated expertise in collaborating with clergy, School and Parish staff, parish leaders and volunteers
- Subject matter expert in Catechetical Formation and its key methodologies, components, and strategies
- Tech savvy in Microsoft Office, Mailchimp, Canva, Flocknote, and ability to manage existing administrative databases, program communications and scheduling software and various social media platforms
- Religious, and Lay Ecclesial Ministers are preferred for this position
- Excellent language and communication skills required, with ability to manage and negotiate conflict
- Outstanding organizational skills
