Job Description
APCO is seeking a dynamic Associate Director, Higher Education Government Affairs to join a strategic growth team and drive new business, build accounts, and deliver superior service to clients in higher education. The role involves government relations, crisis management, market visibility, and client development. A significant portion of the time will be spent on business development and client interaction outside of higher education.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional experience in government relations, public affairs, or public policy.
- Significant experience working for a college, university, or higher education association, ideally in a c-suite.
- Demonstrated success developing and implementing advocacy strategies and managing complex relationships.
- Strong writing and communication skills, with a focus on AP Style.
- Understanding of business development or client acquisition skills.
- Strategic thinking and entrepreneurial mindset.
