Staff Software Engineer

AlphaSense is seeking a Staff Software Engineer with deep production experience in Python and hands-on expertise in AI systems, particularly Large Language Models (LLMs), BERT, or similar architectures. The role involves designing and delivering production-grade systems and scalable AI pipelines, integrating models into Alphasense product, and driving technical excellence through robust system design and algorithm optimization.

Requirements

• Expert in building scalable, high-performing, and robust applications in Python
• Several years of production-level experience designing, deploying, and maintaining Python-based systems
• Hands-on experience (1–2 years) working with AI models such as LLMs, BERT, or similar architectures at a large scale
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis, problem-solving, and object-oriented design
• Proficient with Kubernetes or equivalent container orchestration platforms
• Deep understanding of SQL/NoSQL databases and data modeling principles
• Experience working with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
• Experience in owning services end-to-end — building, running, performing iterative improvements and observability
• Strong experience in writing RFCs, creating technical documentation, and driving engineering best practices
