Job Description
Aiven is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the architecture, development, and deployment of a managed, per-tenant service within customer projects. This role is a foundational position within the team, involving technical leadership, design, and contributing to the open-source ecosystem. The focus is on delivering simple, open solutions to mid-market customers through data and AI platform leveraging Aiven’s open-source technologies.
Requirements
- Strong experience with managed services/SaaS (tenancy models, SLOs, incident management, cost/performance trade-offs)
- Hands-on coding skills across the stack: Python, JVM, TypeScript/React, PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, Kafka
- Knowledge of metadata systems (PostgreSQL/MySQL, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, Kafka)
- Cloud/platform experience: Kubernetes/Helm, Terraform/IaC
- Security mindset
