Job Description
Tennis Channel is seeking a Software Development Engineer – Backend / Platform to build a modern and scalable back-end platform for a next-generation Direct-to-Consumer experience. This role involves designing, building, and operating backend services powering live streaming, content management, and data flows, partnering with product, data, and infrastructure teams. It is an onsite position at offices in Seattle, WA.
Requirements
- Design and implement backend services (microservices, REST / GraphQL APIs, event-driven systems)
- Build scalable, highly available systems handling high throughput and low latency
- Work with media / video teams for streaming, transcoding, and CDN integration
- Define data models, database schemas, and caching strategies
- Instrument services with monitoring, metrics, tracing, and alerting
- Collaborate with mobile/front-end/hybrid apps engineers
- Participate in system design and trade-offs
- Improve developer productivity through tooling and automation
