Job Description
This Cloud Finops Engineer role focuses on bringing financial transparency, cost optimization, and budgeting discipline to cloud environments. The position involves collaborating with cloud architects, operations teams, and financial stakeholders to manage, forecast, and optimize cloud spending. The goal is to ensure smart spending and value from cloud investments.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of billing and cost management (AWS, GCP, or private cloud equivalents)
- Experience with cost analysis tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Cost Management, CloudHealth, or custom dashboards)
- Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure components and cost drivers
- Analytical mindset with experience in Excel, Power BI, or other financial analysis tools
- Ability to explain financial concepts to technical teams and vice versa
- Familiarity with chargeback/showback models and internal cost allocation
