The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) is a regional government agency headquartered in West Palm Beach, Florida, overseeing water resources across 16 counties from Orlando to the Florida Keys. Its core mandate is to balance flood control, water quality, ecosystem health, and water supply to protect the lives and livelihoods of over 9.2 million residents. SFWMD is the oldest and largest of Florida’s five water management districts, and it serves as the lead agency in the nation’s most ambitious environmental effort: restoring the Everglades.
