Requirements

• Possesses knowledge of MRI safety and safety zones
• Reviews patient history and screens for safety concerns (ferromagnetic objects, implanted devices, etc.)
• Educates patients on what to expect and ensures they are safe and comfortable during their scan
• Obtains IV access, prepares and administers contrast and is familiar with recognizing and responding to adverse contrast events
• Possesses advanced knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy
• Ensures the MRI environment remains safe by screening all visitors and team members entering the MRI environment
• Displays knowledge of scanning protocols and adjusts to ensure diagnostic images
• Performs routine QC and ensures equipment is functioning properly
• Collaborates with radiologists and referring physicians
• Documents necessary information in EMR
• Assists with minimally invasive procedures as needed
