Operating Engineer II

This position is for an Operating Engineer II, responsible for the safe and reliable operation of the Detroit Service Center's facility equipment and systems. Responsibilities include maintaining HVAC systems, emergency response, preventative maintenance, and ensuring environmental safety. The role requires leadership in the absence of a direct supervisor and coordination with BCBSM Security.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED equivalent
• Completion of BCBSM Service Center Systems and Jefferson Facility Systems Qualification Guidelines within specified time frames
• One (1) year DDC/BAS operation and maintenance experience
• City of Detroit First Class Refrigeration Operators License, EPA Refrigerant Recovery Certificate and Valid Michigan Driver’s License
• Boiler Operations and Refrigeration / Electrical / Mechanical service licensing preferred
