Senior Project Engineer

Apex Companies is a growth-focused consulting & engineering firm seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Project Engineer to join their New England Civil Infrastructure Group. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in roadway design and project management, with excellent communication and leadership skills.

Requirements

• Knowledge of RIDOT plan set requirements and the RIDOT design process
• Lead the development of 3D roadway design models using AutoCAD Civil3D in accordance with RIDOT standards and workflows
• Oversee or prepare plan sets, special provisions, and cost estimates for roadway design projects
• Assist Project Managers in the planning, coordination, and execution of both large and small projects
• Develop technical approaches, schedules, and fee estimates for proposals on large-scale or more complex projects
• Have proven writing skills to prepare technical memoranda, reports, proposals, contracts, and subcontract scopes of work
• Develop technical solutions for complex roadway projects
• Serve as the Technical Lead for the transportation components of more complex projects
• Supervise and train less experienced staff
• Maintain quality control within the department
• Prepare for and perform oral presentations to the public, to municipal boards, to clients, and to external associations and professional conferences
