American Preparatory Academy (APA) is a public charter school district in Salt Lake County that provides a rigorous classical liberal arts curriculum to more than 3,500 students across multiple K-12 campuses, including the Title I West Valley City 2 campus. APA’s mission centers on academic excellence for low-income families, with 75% of students coming from low-income homes and 95% qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch. The district is distinguished by its commitment to first-generation college readiness, with most graduates pursuing higher education. APA also operates a comprehensive, free afterschool program that serves roughly 800 students daily across 21 offerings, reinforcing its pledge that "We do what's best for kids."
