We are seeking a Lead Geotechnical Engineer to provide technical leadership and strategic guidance for complex engineering projects across British Columbia. The successful candidate will lead geotechnical design and analysis for major infrastructure projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and drive innovation in geotechnical practices.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geological, or Geotechnical Engineering (Masters or PhD preferred).
- 12+ years of consulting experience in geotechnical engineering, including business development and project leadership.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in British Columbia (or eligibility for registration).
- Expertise in advanced geotechnical analysis, design, and applicable codes and standards.
- Technical knowledge of geotechnical engineering, including: design of deep foundations, shallow foundations, evaluating slope stability, earthquake engineering, retaining wall design, earth retention, settlement of compressible soils, ground improvement techniques, support of excavation, dewatering etc.
- Experience with discipline-specific design software and advanced numerical modelling (e.g., Plaxis, FLAC, SLIDE, Settle3, SlopeW, SeepW etc.).
- Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and experience presenting technical topics to clients, including preparation of technical reports.
- Ability to work independently and provide guidance and leadership to junior team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.
- Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to apply technical knowledge to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, computations, statistical analysis and arriving at the most effective, economical, and logical solution.
- Valid BC driver’s license.
