
Job description
As the Principal Analyst within the Norfolk and Suffolk Intelligence Function, you’ll help shape how data and insight are used across health and care services to improve population health outcomes and reduce inequalities. You’ll lead a specialist analytical team hosted by Suffolk County Council, overseeing the delivery of complex intelligence and advanced analytics aligned with regional health and care priorities.
On a day-to-day basis, you will: lead and manage a team of Senior Analysts and Data Analysts, ensure resources are used effectively and work programmes are delivered on time; provide analytical leadership across the Intelligence Function, acting as a visible senior expert on health and care data; deliver complex analytical projects using advanced techniques, including statistical modelling, predictive analytics, data science and population health management approaches.
We’re looking for someone who brings strong analytical leadership experience and a passion for using data to improve outcomes. Our ideal candidate will bring: a relevant degree and a Master’s (or higher) qualification in an analytically demanding subject, or extensive expert-level experience in a senior analytical role; significant experience leading and managing analytical teams in complex health, local government or similarly large systems; advanced knowledge of analytical tools and methods, such as SQL, Power BI, R and Python.
