This position is accountable for developing statewide transportation traffic data needs to meet federal, state requirements, and developing procedures to collect, process, analyze, verify, and organize traffic data. The job involves procuring equipment and services required to meet the unit's responsibilities, managing multi-year consultant contracts, and training staff in traffic data collection procedures. The position requires a bachelor's degree and three years of experience in establishing, monitoring contracts, handling data management activities, GIS, extracting, analyzing, summarizing data, or a combination thereof.
Requirements
- Completion of a bachelor's degree majoring in general studies, business, computer science, computer information, computer information systems, engineering, public administration, project management, geographic information systems (GIS) or mathematics
- Three years of experience establishing, monitoring contracts, handling data management activities, GIS, extracting, analyzing, summarizing data, or a combination thereof
- Supervisory experience
- Working knowledge of state procurement rules and processes
- Working knowledge of the departmental transportation data systems
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, and GIS)
- Ability to develop custom queries and reports against current and historical tables
- Ability to generate summary information, pivot tables, and charts for reporting current and historical roadway and bridge data
- Ability to analyze federal and state data regulations to comply with reporting requirements
- Ability to develop and maintain cooperative relationships with departmental staff and the public
- Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to organize and facilitate meetings and automated presentations
