Technical Application Engineering Specialist

As a Technical Application Engineering Specialist, you will work on tasks and projects that have real-world impact, transforming the grid for resilient and reliable power worldwide. You will help advance a safer, more reliable, and more resilient electrical grid, working on tasks and projects that have real-world impact, and contribute to the development of comprehensive technical proposals, including product recommendations, service options, and pricing strategies. The role requires a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, and 2-4 years' practical experience in application engineering systems, technical sales support or electrical engineering consultant.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 2-4 years' practical experience in application engineering systems, technical sales support or electrical engineering consultant.
• Proven expertise in an applications or technical role, with in-depth knowledge of medium and high voltage products, their applications, and customization capabilities.
• Foundational knowledge of electrical power distribution, generation, and transmission systems.
• Basic knowledge of power systems to support the utility market and commercial and industrial market.
• Knowledge of electrical standards for electrical equipment – CSA, ANSI, IEEE.
• Working knowledge of power system protection and control applications for medium and high voltage electrical distribution.
• Ability to interpret and analyze electrical schematic drawings and technical specifications.
• Solid problem-solving capabilities, with experience evaluating complex technical scenarios and proposing optimal solutions independently and in collaborative environments.
• Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills, ensuring the effective handling of multiple projects.
• Highly skilled in identifying issues and implementing solutions in a timely manner.
• Proactively investigate root causes of recurring issues, implementing sustainable solutions to improve operational efficiency and reduce risk.
