The Sr Director, Web Platforms Engineering is a key leadership role within Pfizer's Digital and Technology organization, responsible for providing strategic vision & leadership to the development & operations of the collective Web Platforms, including Strategy Development, Collaboration, Leadership, and Platform Management.
Requirements
- Experience as an information technology professional in various roles, including leading large scale global digital capabilities.
- Experience in managing senior technical talent.
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 12+ years of experience or master's degree and 10 years of experience or a PHD and 7+ years of experience.
- Progressive experience with increasing responsibility designing, delivering, and maintaining numerous large-scale, global systems & platforms for large-scale global organizations across multiple hardware and software platforms.
- Experience operating in a large multi skilled software development or operations team.
- Demonstrable experience operating in a DevOps environment.
- Demonstrable experience with Software Development Lifecycle management, including production system maintenance and operation.
- Demonstrable experience with software delivery concepts including Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Lean, Continuous Delivery, Microservices, API-first.
- Experience with modern testing practices including TDD, BDD, API Mocking.
- AWS Infrastructure scaling and optimization best practices.
- Fantastic interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to establish relationships, influence outcomes, and deliver effective presentations to a variety of audiences.
- Excellent skills in analysis, critical thinking and planning, oral and written communication, consensus building, facilitation, negotiation, and the ability to readily learn a new business area.
- Demonstrated experience in handling financial resources and staff to meet goals across multiple projects, sourcing model definition and effective execution, global technology leadership experience, and pharmaceutical industry experience.
- Demonstrated experience with vendor negotiations.
- Ability to work with others in a constructive and collaborative manner & influence others outside of the immediate span of control.
- Ability to lead in a complex, matrix environment with distributed resources.
- Pharmaceutical Industry Experience.
