Role Overview

The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center has a stellar history in lung disease, clinical care, and research. As a Faculty member of the Division, you will be expected to provide the best quality of care for our patients and to contribute to the Division's research, clinical and training programs.

What You Will Do

Provide state-of-the-art, evidence-based, critical care at Mount Sinai Health System by investigating, diagnosing, and treating acutely ill patients. Clinical duties include performing treatments and procedures at the bedside, such as airway maintenance/intubation, bronchoscopy, cardioversion, point of care ultrasound, central line insertions, ACLS, and others.

Requirements

• Ongoing Medical Education: Maintain current certification and licensure.
• Teaching and Mentorship: commitment to teaching and mentoring the critical care fellows as evidenced by: Attendance at fellow conferences, Teaching in fellowship training days, Give two lectures per academic year to the fellows
• Scholarly Activity: Engagement in scholarly activities (at least two, within every 3 years): Presentations, Publications, Grand rounds, Serve on professional committees, educational organizations, journal reviewer, editorial board member, Creation of curricula, evaluation tools, didactic educational activities, or electronic educational materials, Innovations in education
• Participation in ACGME-required faculty development programs: Registration + Attendance at the annual Mount Sinai GME meeting, Completion of GME snippet (a focused learning activity for faculty)
• Contribute to ongoing fellowship program assessment and improvement: Completion of fellow rotation evaluations in a timely manner, Participation in biannual faculty meetings to discuss fellow performance, Participation in Program Evaluation Committee (PEC)
