Team Lead, Personal Support Worker

Role Overview

The Team Lead, Personal Support Worker is responsible for providing direct support to clients in a psycho-social (recovery) service approach, assisting with the implementation and maintenance of all services, and performing administrative tasks related to the operation of the program. The role involves working with vulnerable, older persons and seniors with mental health issues, addictions, and other special needs.

What You Will Do

The Team Lead, Personal Support Worker will support the physical and mental health requirements of client members, establish a working rapport with clients, monitor mental health-related behaviors, and provide input into team planning to manage clients' mental health issues. The role also involves facilitating conflict resolution, supporting clients with reminders related to taking medications, and maintaining accurate records of client members' appointments and hospital admissions.

Requirements

• Completion of a post-secondary education in Human Services
• Experience working with vulnerable, older persons and seniors with mental health issues
• Ability to organize activities and work with individuals and groups in the areas of assessment and problem-solving
• Ability to intervene and manage crisis situations
• Knowledge and proven experience working with clients in a PSR (Psychosocial Rehabilitation) approach
• First Aid and CPR certification
• Excellent verbal and written skills in English language
• Excellent computer skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment
