Social Worker Bachelors (OSP) position at Health Sciences North, performing triage and screen referrals, providing individual and group Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to adults with depression, anxiety, and anxiety-related conditions.
Requirements
- Minimum of a four (4) year Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited university
- Current Certificate of Registration in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW)
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training (NVCI) and Ministry of Labour “Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps” training certificate
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in triage, clinical assessment, and treatment delivery of evidence-based CBT and CPT
- Experience providing mental health and addiction screening and intake with ability to make clinical recommendations
- Experience working in a community-based or outpatient setting
- Experience utilizing evidence-based CBT treatment models with clients experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, and anxiety related conditions
- Demonstrated ability to assess client symptoms and needs, and triage client to the appropriate OSP service across the stepped care pathway or to another service
- Demonstrated knowledge and practiced skills in providing culturally safe and responsive mental health services to clients of diverse ethno-racial and cultural backgrounds
- Demonstrated knowledge of DSM-V and psychosocial issues affecting people living with mental health and addiction issues
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office software, patient information systems, and other program specific tools
- Demonstrated superior interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to organize and prioritize as required
- Demonstrated discretion and maturity when handling confidential information
- Demonstrated commitment to the safety of co-workers and patients
