We are looking for a Technical Director - Emergency Preparedness to join our team based in the US East Region. As a Technical Director at GHD, you will not only mentor and guide the team but also take the reins in environmental emergencies, collaborating closely with clients and agencies to ensure effective response and resolution. Your role will extend beyond project management to include business development and client expansion activities, where your expertise in environmental engineering, geology, or related fields will shine. With 7+ years of project management experience under your belt, including a proven track record in emergency management, client relationship management, and business development, you'll bring a wealth of knowledge to the table.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in one or more of the following: Environmental emergency response and preparedness, Environmental site assessments and remediation, Project Management Experience
- Track record of revenue growth through Business Development activities
- Ability to effectively communicate with other technical professionals, clients, and regulatory officials
- Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, team player and leader
- Strong mentorship and coaching skills to assist with development of junior staff
- Strong delegation skills to ensure that emergency projects are staffed and managed appropriately
- Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time (mostly local, some regional)
- Being on-call 24/7/365 and respond to call outs and requests for technical assistance during non-routine working hours
- Strong organizational skills to assist with day-to-day operations of the business and organize logistically complex responses/projects
- Experienced in emergency preparedness, air monitoring, environmental assessment/sampling, ICS, SCAT, regulatory compliance (PHMSA, EPA, DOT)
- Experience with railroad, pipeline, and oil & gas related emergencies
